「ひねり王子」白井引退
今日は、6月17日(木)スポーツ欄より【「ひねり王子」白井引退】の一部分を、紹介致します。

体操男子の2016年リオデジャネイロ五輪団体金メダリストで、世界選手権でも個人種目別のゆかを3度制した白井健三(24)(日体大教)が(6月)16日、現役引退を表明した。選手生活よりも後進の育成にやりがいを感じ始めたといい、横浜市内で開いた記者会見で、「未練は一つもない。幸せな体操人生だった」と晴れ晴れとした表情で語った。
白井は17歳で出場した13年世界選手権のゆかで優勝し、五輪も合わせて日本の体操史上、最年少金メダリストとなった。突出した横回転技の技術で「ひねり王子」と呼ばれ、17年世界選手権でも、ゆかと跳馬で金メダルを獲得。主要国際大会で発表し、成功させた新技は計六つで、いずれも「シライ」の名がつく形で国際体操連盟に認定された。
近年は足のけがなどもあって低迷し、東京五輪代表入りを逃した。今後は母校の日体大で指導に当たるとして、「経験したことを伝えていきたい」と述べた。
